SPECIALIZATIONS

What do I do?

I fine-tune your content to perfection. I make sure it reads smoothly, your message is clear, and it fits your target audience. I take long, complicated sentences and make them easy to understand.

What do you get?

Clear, powerful content without mistakes. Content you love and that resonates with your audience, whether that's close to home or far away.

Why do you want this?

Because what you say, and how you say it, is your brand’s personality. It’s the impact, image, and emotion of the story you want to tell. It’s getting the right message, at the right time, to the right people. Let’s do it.

The Details

COPY EDITING: Technical corrections. Yes, I can spot a typo a mile away. I ensure all content is free of mistakes — spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax (sentence construction), and consistency. Facts are checked, links verified, inconsistencies fixed.

STYLISTIC EDITING: For clarity and style. I analyze your creative content to make sure your message is clear, sentences flow naturally, and the tone and vocabulary fit the target audience. I check structure and tighten phrases to give you maximum impact. Stylistic editing is more subjective than copy editing, requiring a high level of creative involvement and superb writing skills.

ESL EDITING – ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE: I transform non-native English copy into professional English content. By understanding the original intent and nuances in French, I edit the text to ensure it delivers the same story, facts, and emotions.

TRANSLATION: From French to English.

LOCALIZATION: Just like translation, localization changes words from one language into another language. But it also does more than that — it makes sure the message stays the same. What may make sense in one country and language does not necessarily make sense in another.

Take the story of the Chevy Nova car. It sold fabulously, until it was translated directly into Spanish  — the No Go car. Not surprisingly, sales tanked. Or when Clairol brought their Mist Stick curling iron to Germany, unaware that “mist” is slang for manure.

Successfully localizing your brand makes your story more relevant to audiences around the world. It changes Christmas into Chinese New Year and a Sunday lunch roast into paella.

Understanding the nuances in both languages is critical. By combining creative writing and a deep understanding of both cultures, I make sure your message does not get “lost in translation.”
